Ana Plasencia

Ana Plasencia has worked as an journalist and news anchor on Deutsche Welle’s television program (DW) for over 20 years, where she currently presents the Spanish-language news, DW NOTICIAS.
She was also the face of the first globalization magazine on German television GLOBAL 3000 (DW), which she moderated in German and in Spanish.
Since March 2007, Ana Plasencia also presents the weekly business and consumer magazine UMSCHAU on MDR in Leipzig.
The likeable presenter was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1974. She grew up in the Canary Islands where she studied at the German international school. In the early 90s, she came back to Germany to study journalism and communication science at the Freie Universität Berlin. When the Spanish woman is asked where she is more at home, whether in Tenerife or in Germany, she replies: “Both – you can feel at home anywhere”.
